This year, Bataleon introduces a line of boards with their patented Triple Base Technology, based on their 1990's studies of the riding properties of the snowboard.  They observed that a conventional flat board changes its shape when going through a curve.  The torsional forces twist the board into a 3 dimensional shape, leaving it with a smaller angle to the ground in the tip and tail, with the maximum angle in the middle.  The issue, they found was that the board immediately began to return to its normal, flat state. thereby disrupting the optimum shape of the board's edge for smooth curve performance.  Bataleon decided that the best solution would be to divide the base into 3 distinct regions, giving the tip and tail regions the optimum 3D shape for making turns while leaving the center section flat.  This resulted in a board with a triple base, where each region of the base is shaped like the natural shape of a board in motion.  After several years of testing and refinement -- Bataleon and North Shore Bikes & Boards is ready to show the next evolutionary step in snowboard design.
